No soup on the way home

'No soup on the way home'

Bombing missions over Germany during World War II meant spending an awful long time in the air. The unfortunate bomb aimer in this cartoon will be going hungry on the way home as he has just dropped his flask of soup along with the more deadly cargo on the target below.

This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2009.
