'Dreams of flight'

Before mankind finally got airborne all sorts of contraptions and wacky ideas were tried. Here is a cartoon of one such wacky idea that may have got of the ground, though only briefly.

This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2009.
