'Airborne at last'

A cartoon depicting one of the early attempts to get airborne. These were pioneering times and lighter than air balloons were the first vehicles that gave mankind access to the skies.

This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2009.
