'F100 oops!'
The F100 was designed so that the rear of the fuselage could be removed entirely for maintenance. When I worked at FR Aviation, Tracor Flight Systems Incorporated operated a couple of F100's in the high speed target towing role form one of our hangars. Quite often they would run up the engine with full re-heat and the rear fuselage removed. This cartoon shows what might have happened when testing the engine in this configuration.
