'The worlds first test pilot'

I can't imagine that the worlds first test pilot was a volunteer. Here we see the actual first test pilot being gently encouraged to attempt the impossible, manned flight.

This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2010.
