'Arrestor hook experiments'

What would appear to be a simple and elegant solution, that any simpleton could have though of, has, in all cases, been the product of much thought and numerous failures. This cartoon depicts one such failure on the road to the arrestor hook.

This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2011.
