'What ground line'
Aircraft tyres do a good job of insulating the aircraft from the ground. So when refuelling you always connect a 'Ground Line' first to discharge any static electricity that may have built up on the airframe. If you don't the consequences can be quite dramatic!
This cartoon was exhibited, and sold, at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, in July 2007.
